About the event
An exhibition curated by Beppe Caturegli, Fabio Annunziata, Filippo Soldaini A collection of architectural projects, from the Sumerians to modernism. It is the corpus of works from which these images called Footprints / Impronte were selected. Vitruvius used the term ichnographia to indicate the architectural plan, from icnos = imprint and graphos = sign. (1)
The architectural plan, despite being a very real entity, is an image that remains largely unknown. It appears only in project drawings, advertising flyers, fire department plans, or in archaeological surveys, if the architecture is very ancient. It is, in some ways, a real abstraction. Its appeal comes from its dual technical and graphic value. Indeed, we can look at it in two ways: as abstract graphics, as pure drawing, and, of course, as a formalization of the construction program.
